My Cake Mixes have become a hit in my home! I've always wanted to have my own cake mixes on hand so that I wouldn't have to use the boxed mix. Even though I whipped up the batter myself,(using the boxed mix) I still felt like it wasn't mine. After doing some research, testing and failing I finally found the perfect ratio that I like and works for me(and I know will work for you!). The best part is knowing what the ingredients are in your cake mix! And all they are in my mix are; all-purpose, flour, baking powder, salt, and granulated sugar(depending on what kind of mix. for example; chocolate, cocoa powder is added).
(Yes, this is made with my Homemade Vanilla Cake Mix! :D)
Making your own cakes from scratch can be nerve-racking for some people, measuring out your own ingredients and all the other fuss. If you can pour and mix the Betty Crocker cake mix you can also do it with mine! In the same fashion, you are just taking the extra step to measure out how much mix you need then adding all of your wet ingredients just like Betty Crocker, but better! All you need to do is follow the recipe to make the mix, then whenever you need to make something follow the recipe again for whatever you are making and keep doing that until you feel comfortable with crafting up your own dessert. If the recipe calls for chocolate chips, use white chocolate or peanut butter chips I just give you the base as a blank canvas so that you can make your own masterpiece.
What I love to do is to either put them in wide mouth mason jars or 16 oz pouches(as you see in the picture) to give them a festive look and also I love to label them as to what kind of mix they are so those whom you are giving it to will know as well. Also, I love using a larger label on the back with the instructions like what to add and how long to bake your cake. And too, be creative with how you decorate these for the holidays, tie a nice bow around it, put them in a nice sack or basket go all out to show whomever you are giving it to that you love them. I want to build a community of bakers who passion is not only baking but giving. Everyone deserves something nice handed to them every now and then. Like make a bunch of cupcakes then go feed the homeless. Make my Standard Bread Recipe and make sandwiches for them to go along with their desserts. In this cold and dark world there's nothing like showing someone the love of God by giving and showing them that someone does care about their predicament. God says in His Word, "Better is to give, than to receive."
Concluding my story about my mixes, those of you who are national or international baker's I'd love to sit down with you about shipping out my mixes to you so that you can use for large orders! This will save you time, money, and all that effort to measuring everything out by hand!
